Crashed Yemeni plane had 153 on board

Was on the way to the office this morning when the Dubai radio broadcaster of 92.5 read the news that Yemeni Plane Crashed.

Another plane crash in a month is a very sad thing!

The newscaster didn't elaborate much due to the limited details.

During noon time Dubai time, CNN released the news thread on Yemeni Plane Crash with one Survivor! Boss joking said : "MAYBE HE"S IN THE TOILET WHEN THE PLANE CRASHED"..All the other colleagues laughed!!!???!!!

Another colleague said otherwise, "DON"T EVER TAKE AIR BUS PLANE.. 2ND CRASH IN A MONTH.. LAST AIR FRANCE CRASH ALSO AIR BUS" in his broken english tone....

Everyone laughed again!

PLEASE.. Why are you guys making fun of such thing? Have you ever thought that if someone you know was on the plane? I was taken aback when i heard these remarks.. i seriously don't think we should make a joke out of these.

To be honest.. I never doubted the nationals (emiratis) for their patriotisim to their country! Regardless they are from any of the 7 emirates!

I was happy to hear that too! Ironically???!! It's the same overwhelming feeling I had when our little red dot got to host Formula 1 (F1) in Singapore last year!!

Is she Going to Die Soon?

Caught her when she was sleeping :) cute right..ya, her favourite toy : Tissues...

She was really sick today..one of her ear was bleeding.. flesh blood.. imagine that..I don't want to do a closeup of the wound as she was running around and i don't want to grab her for any photo to make her more tense...

Was on company in-house workshop for the past two days. Didn't really read the news or do much stuff after work.

Was shocked to notice that 'Bui', my dwarf hamie's ear was bleeding! Carefully, we cleaned her ear with saline (as we do not know what to do at that late hour. Doubt any VET in UAE will entertain a sick hamster at this hour).. I suspected she scratched herself too hard and it bleed.. She has been dropping alot of fur lately..and she's not as active as before. Active as in very excited when she see food..always running on the wheel inside the cage..

Is she going to die soon? Afterall, her other mate had died on 1st May 2009! We reckon she is going to leave us soon too... *Sobz****

I was surfing through the net for remedy on her bleeding ear. Read that dwarf hamster life span ranged from 1.5 - 4 years. Mostly 2 years, if she is more than 2 years it mean we took very good care of her. I'm consoled to read this as these 2 girls (one who died) had been with me for almost 3 & 1/2 years. They were given by a friend whose hamsters gave birth to alot of babies and she need to give away desperately before the mother eat the babies. Yes, that's a way of protecting their babies. Worst of all, u know how fast hamsters/mice populate!! Mother with son, father with daughters or whatever..So if you ever intend to keep a pair of hamsters, and you have no intention to have more in near future, please do not buy one of each opposite sex. Mean : buy both of the same gender, 2 males or 2 females.

Good MOVE! At least something i don't get to see back home! Thumbs up! My comment : You've the facilities, you need Professionally sound Expertise! Not that Dubai doesn't have good medical personnel but they should really focus on healthcare & wellness.

I'm a working expat that have been residing in Dubai since 2002. I love this place but i also dislike it in some way....**Mixed Feelings**

I know it's not a long period as compared to others who has been here for decades, but I had witnessed the changes and experienced the property trend going through its high and low since then and now.

As a home buyer myself, I purchased a small unit during 2004 and suffered drawback despite others were making lots of profit. At that time, rental was escalating and I'm suffering financial losses of financing my unit and paying for high rental as my unit got delayed. I was lucky to sell my unit at break even and managed to purchase another unit last year. Unfortunately, the unit which I purchased (supposing to be ready last year too) got delayed again. Reasons they gave was Municipality not ready, electricity not ready, DEWA not ready...etc..Developer handed over to us only recently and i suffered badly due to the sudden down trend of property market which alot of buyers didn't expected.

Some expat may say : "Served you right! Why you dare to invest in UAE property when we (pioneers) had been here for decades and we didn't."

My intention is not to whine on how stupid i was ** but just to share my experience with others..

Reason for the downtrend on property prices was due to too many units that had been delayed for years are ready for handover now. Current supply is much higher than the demand. This impacted Dubai's property market badly as compared to Abu Dhabi, and other emirates that development goes on a slower phase. Many buildings that are ready today are mostly empty! Drive around Jumeriah area and you see alot of ready buildings with only few tenant living in it.

As an expat from a developed country, can i request that you look into the following measures to improve the property market in Dubai.

Property project management and planning. Off plan projects should promise investors 'Completion date with reasonable liquidity Damage compensation to buyers, if they don't deliver on time'. By doing this, all municipality and concerned parties should work in hand. Dubai shouldn't be portrayed as a place that legislation is not running in place, which people can always blame on one party to another.

Set up grading system for developers too. Grading system determine the level of project construction values they can undertake. Grading is subjective to the company's financial and staff turnover.

Salik - A good move by the authorities to control the traffic. However it can be done better. You can look into implementing 'Off Peak and Peak timing'. There can be higher but affordable rates on salik. Maybe AED4/entry during peak hours, AED2/entry for non peak.. FREE from 12am to 6am.

Medical - The concerned authorities should really look into the expertise of medical experts in this country. This place is really bad..and Super Expensive too. For me to spend my money here to get treated for a normal surgery that will cost me thousands Dirhams, i rather fly home to seek more professional and reliable medical specialists I'm more comfortable with...

Environmental issues.. Recycling ideas..Labour Rights for low salaried workers, Employment issues on both Expats & LoCals... So much More I want to write .. but I'm sleepy now...........zzzzzzzzz

I remembered my sis used to spend her allowances on cassettes tapes. Yes, cassette as there's no CD player or MP3/4 Player last time. I listened to whatever songs she played on our lousy radio player. She will play back all the English songs she loved again and again..Tommy Page, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson & Michael Jackson etc.

I used to like Michael Jackson too. His voice was good and some of his songs were really nice and soothing. Come on, no matter what he did to his face (and constantly denying like all other human beings do), all negative news/publicity on him, his VoiCe was still Good.

You may agree everyday someone will pass away, why is it that some Tom, Dick or Harry death wasn't that 'awakening news' as compare to famous celeb or politician? Difference is the level of public awareness. If you are not known, no one will want to know or interested to know what happen to you. If you are famous, everyone want to know what happen! Human!

Dubai: Dubai Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the body of a man found floating close to the Jumeirah area.
The body of the man, believed to be in his forties, was found on Sunday by a police unit of the Dubai Police Ports Station near the fishing port in Jumeirah.
Police described the man as tall with an average body build, fair skin, thick hair, and a light beard. He was found wearing grey shorts.Information Colonel Mohammad Jasem Al Za'abi, Director of the Dubai Police Ports Station, urged the public to provide any information that could help identify the person by calling the Operations Room: 04-6095555 or Dubai Police Ports Station: 04-3459999.

May I knOw whAt kind of news or notice is this?? How does anyone able to identify this corpse when the details given was so 'vague' and 'limited', no pictures just few liners?

To the concerned authorities : Please do not be so stingy in words and be more specific in the description.

Police described the man as tall with an average body build - Estd height in inches/cm? Not as in the exact inches but I'm sure it's not difficult to estd a person's height? AveRage Body Build? How Average? A 170cm tall and 85kg may be average to you but others may potrayed him as Big Build.
, fair skin - Fair skin!??!!! Asian? Indian? British? You may not be able to tell the person's natonality by looks but should be able to give an estimation, thick hair - How thick? How you measure thickness? Why don't you say Short hair to which length eg. ear, neckline etc? , and a light beard - Guess this is the drawing point the authority want to emphasized.. He had a Beard! Light Somemore...Light = Grey? or Light Blonde? Or ?? Full Beard or ?? He was found wearing grey shorts - Just a pair of shorts and nothing on top? So he's found half nude? If he isn't, why don't you also mention the clothes he's wearing, the colour or prints (if any).

why some news are so detailed they give full descriptions on some famous actress/actors' attire, even if one was spotted with a pimple on the face!

Delivery???? Traffic???

Today, I'm expecting my new cooker to be delivered and installed at my new resident at 1100am!! Unfortunately, they were late.. or should I say.. VERY LATE!

I waited till 1pm, 3pm and 5pm and after numerous calls..the delivery guy are still not here yet.. What happen?? The reason the agent gave..Dubai TRAFFIC!!!???!!! WTF??

What traffic u r talking about?? You mean from Ibn Battuta to JLT take few hours? No phone calls nothing at all??? U mean traffic is that bad if you know there's few hours delay and you take your own sweet time to deliver?? I don't believe, neither do i accept it! This is all because of the poor logistic planning that the agent had! Don't blame it on the driver or sales person or customer service staff!! Come on................
